Ductle is a daily puzzle game. Playing needs no account. It has no ads and no tracking cookies.

What stays on your device

Your progress on each day's job, your tests and their pictures, and your stats (each finished job's score) are saved in your browser's storage on this device, so they are there when you come back. Apart from your finished score for the rankings (below), they are not sent to Ductle. Clearing this site's data in your browser deletes them.

Sharing a result uses your device's share sheet or clipboard. Nothing about it passes through Ductle.

Rankings

When you finish a day's job, the game sends Ductle your score, how many tests you used, what you spent and the design of your best test, with a random ID your browser made for the game. That is how the "better than" line under your result is worked out, and the design lets a score be checked. The ID is not tied to your name or email unless you log in (below), and the rankings store no IP address. Only your first finished score on a job counts; replays are not sent.

Accounts

Logging in is optional and only keeps your stats on every device you log in on. If you log in with Google, Google tells Ductle your Google account ID, email address and name, and Ductle keeps them, linked to the random IDs of the browsers you log in on, so the finished scores from those browsers count as yours (one score per job, the first). Google handles the sign-in under its privacy policy. Ductle does not email you.

Logging in uses two cookies, for nothing else: a short one that holds your place while Google signs you in, which goes when you come back or after ten minutes, and one that keeps you logged in on that browser for up to a year. Log out under Stats to remove it. Delete account, also under Stats, removes your email address, name and Google account ID and logs you out everywhere; your scores stay in the rankings, tied only to the random IDs.

What the servers see

ductle.com is served by Cloudflare. As with any website, each visit sends the usual details of the request, such as your IP address and browser type, which Cloudflare handles under its privacy policy. Cloudflare also keeps a log of the requests the game's server answers and any errors, for a few days, which Ductle uses only to find and fix problems.

The page loads its fonts from Google Fonts, so Google receives those requests under its privacy policy.

Counting visits

Ductle counts visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device. It reports totals such as page views, the sites visitors came from, their countries, browsers and devices, and how fast the page loaded. It does not identify or follow individual visitors.

Changes

If Ductle adds anything that collects more, such as ads or emails, this page will say so before it starts.
